Counseling & Therapy

Support for Healing, Growth, & Meaningful Change

At Mindwell Gardens, we believe therapy is a space to feel heard, better understand yourself and your relationships, and work toward meaningful change.

We provide compassionate, collaborative, and individualized counseling and therapy for children ages 5+, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Whether you are navigating a difficult season, working through long-standing patterns, strengthening relationships, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, therapy can provide support along the way.

Counseling and Psychotherapy

The terms counseling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, and there is considerable overlap between the two.

Counseling may focus on current concerns, life transitions, relationships, coping skills, decision-making, or personal growth. Psychotherapy may explore concerns more deeply, including emotional or behavioral patterns, past experiences, relationships, and mental health symptoms.

At Mindwell Gardens, we focus less on the label and more on providing care that is personalized to your needs, goals, and circumstances.

Is Therapy Right for Me?

People seek help for many different reasons.

You don't need to be experiencing a crisis to benefit from therapy. People seek therapy for many different reasons, including:

  • Anxiety, stress, or depression
  • Relationship or family concerns
  • Life transitions or difficult experiences
  • Grief, loss, or trauma
  • Emotional regulation and coping
  • Self-esteem and personal growth
  • School or work-related stress
  • Communication and interpersonal difficulties

Your reasons for seeking therapy are personal. Together, you and your therapist can identify what matters most and develop goals that reflect your needs.

Individual Therapy

A Space That's Focused on You

Individual therapy provides a private, supportive environment to explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships, and concerns with a therapist.

Therapy may focus on addressing current challenges, understanding patterns that may be keeping you stuck, developing healthier coping strategies, strengthening relationships, or gaining greater insight into yourself.

Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to establish goals and develop an approach that reflects your needs, strengths, and circumstances.

Couples Therapy

Strengthening Connection & Understanding

Relationships can experience periods of disconnection, conflict, transition, or uncertainty. Couples therapy provides a supportive, balanced environment where partners can better understand one another, improve communication, and strengthen their relationship.

Therapy may address communication, emotional connection, intimacy, trust, recurring conflicts, friendship, and important life transitions. Our role is not to take sides, but to help both partners better understand their relationship and develop healthier ways of connecting with one another.

Family Therapy

Growing Stronger Together

Challenges affecting one family member can often affect the entire family. Family therapy provides a warm, supportive space where family members can feel heard, better understand one another, improve communication, and work through challenges together.

Therapy may address family conflict, parenting concerns, life transitions, emotional or behavioral challenges, changing family roles, or periods of stress and disconnection—with the goal of strengthening relationships and helping families move forward together.

Group Therapy

Connection, Support & Shared Growth

Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to connect with others who may be navigating similar experiences while developing insight, confidence, coping skills, and healthier relationships.

Our therapeutic groups provide a supportive environment where participants can learn from one another, practice new skills, and experience the value of connection and shared growth.

Our Approach

Individualized, Collaborative, & Evidence-Based

There is no single approach to therapy that works for everyone. At Mindwell Gardens, treatment is individualized based on your concerns, goals, strengths, experiences, and preferences.

Our therapists draw from evidence-based approaches while creating a therapeutic relationship that is warm, collaborative, supportive, and honest. Therapy may involve developing practical skills, exploring patterns, increasing self-awareness, strengthening relationships, processing difficult experiences, or learning new ways of responding to life's challenges.

The goal is not simply to feel better in the moment, but to develop greater understanding, healthier patterns, and meaningful changes that extend beyond the therapy room.

What to Expect

Your First Steps in Therapy

Beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar, and you don't need to have everything figured out before you start. Your therapist will help guide the process.

Your first sessions are an opportunity to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. Your therapist may ask about your current concerns, relevant experiences, relationships, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

Together, you and your therapist will identify goals and develop an approach tailored to your needs. As therapy continues, sessions may involve exploring thoughts and emotions, recognizing patterns, developing practical skills, strengthening relationships, and trying new ways of responding to challenges.

Therapy is a collaborative process. You are encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and talk openly about what is—or isn't—working for you. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to say. We can start wherever you are.

In-Person & Telehealth

Teletherapy

Mindwell Gardens offers both in-person and telehealth therapy, allowing you and your therapist to determine the format that best fits your needs.

In-person sessions are available at our Temecula office and provide a private, comfortable space to meet face-to-face with your therapist.

Telehealth sessions offer the convenience of meeting securely by video from your home or another private location. Telehealth services are available to clients who reside in California at the time of their appointment.

Depending on your needs, preferences, and the services provided, you may participate in therapy in person, through telehealth, or a combination of both.

Fees & Insurance

Mindwell Gardens accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna insurance plans.

We also welcome private-pay clients and can provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek possible reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

Fees vary depending on the provider, service, and length of the appointment.

A Place for Curiosity & Reflection

Therapy often begins with curiosity.

Therapy can create space to pause, reflect, and better understand yourself—your experiences, emotions, relationships, and the patterns that have shaped you.

Why do I react this way?
Where did this pattern come from?
What do I actually need?
What am I holding onto?
What might I want to do differently?

Therapy isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about developing greater awareness, connecting the dots, and beginning to see yourself and your experiences more clearly.

Because growth doesn’t look the same for everyone.

Sometimes growth means blooming.
Sometimes it means setting boundaries.
Sometimes it means letting go.
Sometimes it means understanding our roots.

And sometimes, it simply means creating the conditions we need to flourish.

At Mindwell Gardens, therapy offers a supportive space to better understand where you’ve been, where you are, and how you want to grow.
